A Vietnam veteran and fire captain, Fred Graves, has transformed his 1966 Chevrolet Corvette into a stunning masterpiece. This car, which he has owned for 37 years, had seen its fair share of wear and tear, with front and rear impacts. But with the help of Old Anvil Speed Shop's Paul Bosserman, it received a complete makeover. Bosserman, with his 30 years of experience, is a master of engineering, 3D modeling, machining, welding, fabricating, painting, and upholstery. He breathed new life into the 60-year-old Corvette, giving it a custom body, big-block V8 power, and a head-turning appearance. The result? A '66 Corvette that no longer looks like a standard '66. Sean from Autotopia LA praises it as possibly the greatest '66 Corvette on the planet. It made its public debut at SEMA in November and has been turning heads ever since. The car's V8 engine, a General Motors big-block 454-cubic-inch crate engine with a Holley Terminator X, produces around 450 horsepower, despite its lightweight 3,100-pound frame. It's a true powerhouse. The transmission is a Tremec TKX five-speed, controlled by a Hurst shifter, providing precise gear shifts. The car's exterior features a custom paint job, a 1967 hood extended to the windshield, and a six-taillight layout. The interior, while retaining the original seats with factory foam, has a retro vibe with Apex leather. The dashboard, however, is still a work in progress. Bosserman's attention to detail is evident in the panels, which he enhanced with leather and chrome stripes. He also plans to install a smaller steering wheel for better maneuverability. The car rides on original American Racing wheels with wide oval radial Firestone Coker tires, a minimal yet powerful combination. The 1966 Corvette is a true testament to the craftsmanship of Bosserman and the passion of Fred Graves, a Vietnam veteran who has brought this classic car back to life.
